A well-known national publishing house being an official distribution of foreign literature and teaching materials in the Republic of Azerbaijan had difficulty in struggling against distribution of pirate materials brought into the country illegally.

BACG was able to effectively pursue the case before the Copyright Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan and achieved successful completion of a judicial proceeding with issuance of a judgment favoring publishing house’s claim and prohibiting illegal distribution of pirate goods in the country. In addition, BACG had successfully represented the company before the Customs Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan in preparation of necessary documentation for struggling against importation of counterfeited products.

A local publishing house needed conclusion of several copyright contracts with authors, illustrators, photographers under the various terms and conditions for its new book catalogue. It was necessary to prepare contracts and other associated documents within a short period of time protecting company’s interest to a maximum extent allowed by copyright legislation.

BACG legal team prepared requested contracts/documents and held several meetings with the representatives of company for elaboration of legislative requirements, pros and cons of pre-contractual understandings and deliberations. As a result of BACG team’s efficient work, all necessary documents were prepared in a timely manner and all contracts had successfully been executed.
