A US company had expatriate staff located at construction sites in the regions of Azerbaijan for over one year. Due to change in Azerbaijani migration and immigration laws the expatriate staff was suddenly found themselves in violation of the law. The company required the expertise of the expatriate staff in order to complete its project, but was at exposure for fines and penalties for not being in compliance with the new laws.

Oil and Gas
Representative office of one of the multinational company operating in oil-gas industry of Azerbaijan had difficulties with implementation of local labor laws in terms of setting out working regime for on/off - shore employees, as well as, revision of already existing labor agreements and internal procedures in line with the newly introduced system of e-registration of labor agreements.
